Working Together for Change
We are constantly looking for ways to improve and provide the best service for the people we support. ‘Working Together for Change’ is an exciting new initiative. It is a programme designed to enable Real Life Options to become more person centred and responsive to the people we support.
The programme involves a leadership team – a cross section of RLO people from all levels and all regions, who meet regularly over a two year period, to ensure that Real Life Options moves from being a good organisation to become a great organisation.
Lisa Watchorn commented:
“The Working Together for Change programme means that the people we support will have better lives, as those who support them are more empowered to listen and act on what they say. We look forward to involving the whole organisation in the programme and embedding the tools and practices into our every day working lives”.
The first meeting of the leadership team took place on in March 2011, facilitated by Helen Sanderson Associates. The leadership team is made up of managers, administrators, support workers and people who we support. After a day of discussion, deliberation and presentations, good progress was made.
Real Life Options already provides good quality services, including many that have been rated excellent by regulators. We have many dedicated and highly skilled staff and our commitment to staff development has been recognised in our achievement of the Investor In People Bronze award.
'Working Together for Change' is an exciting new initiative. It's a programme designed to take us to the next stage, to help Real Life Options become truly person centred and completely responsive to the people we support. We believe that we only need to make a small (perhaps only 1%) extra improvement to move from being a good organisation to being recognised as a great organisation.
