Judy looks forward to retirement…and planning her wedding

JudyContinuous Improvement Partner Judy Sansom will be retiring from Real Life Options after decades of working in the health and social care industry. Originally joining the organisation as an Area Manager for the London and South region, Judy went on to join the new Quality team that was being established and has been extremely valuable to working with services in Wales and Birmingham.

Shona Beaton, Head of Transformation said: “Judy has done a huge amount of work whilst she’s worked here. She has an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience which has been really important in helping to shape how we deliver our services. It will be a real shame to see her go but we all wish her the very best in her retirement.”

“It feels like I’ve been part of Real Life Options for ages,” shared Judy. “I’ve really enjoyed everything that I’ve done here, it’s been really varied and interesting and it’s been great meeting a range of different people. The highlight has definitely been being able to improve the lives of the people we support – I know it’s a cliché, but at the heart of all my jobs in care the people really are at the centre of everything. I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone at Real Life Options I’ve had the opportunity to work with for really accepting me as part of the team.”

“Thinking about retirement certainly brings a rollercoaster of emotions, but I’m really looking forward to developing my magistrate commitments more and spending time in my garden too. I’m also really interested in volunteering so have been investigating  potentially volunteering on a ‘Beanstalk’ scheme in local schools to help develop language communication skills in non-English speaking pupils or working front of house at the Royal and Derngate theatre. Plus I’m getting married in August, so it will be good to have time to plan that as well!”
