Chairman
David Wilkin (left) was appointed the new Chairman of the Board of Management of Real Life Options at the Annual General Meeting on 23rd July 2009.
A non-executive member of the Board for over five years, David has worked closely with our founder, David Wandless, and had contact with the people we support, staff and service managers across all of Real Life Options' operational regions.
He is keen to take up the challenge of the new role of Chairman, now separate from the role of Chief Executive. David looks forward to leading and supporting the Board, the new Chief Executive, Brian Hutchinson, and other senior managers, with a strong and positive vision for the future.
Having originally joined the Board to strengthen its knowledge base and bring external business skills, David's background is in working in private sector sales and marketing roles and within business support networks; and he has run his own business. Living conveniently close to Real Life Options' head office in Pontefract, West Yorkshire; he enjoys outdoor activities like cycling and walking, Tai Chi and spending time with his daughter and two beloved grandchildren.
"Following David Wandless will not be an easy task, but my aim is to carry on the same ethos and uphold the same values, along with my fellow directors" says David.
